DEFINING MOMENTS / REFLECTION
Change doesn’t always announce itself. Sometimes it begins with a question we finally let ourselves ask.

that you used to
walk past?”
A REFLECTION PROMPT
We often describe a turning point as a single dramatic decision. But the decision may be the last visible step in something that has been unfolding quietly: a recurring question, an uncomfortable pattern, a conversation that stays with us.
Try looking back over an ordinary week. When did you feel most present? When did you agree to something before giving yourself time to think? Where did your attention go when nobody was directing it? You do not need a tidy answer. The point is to notice what your usual explanations leave out.
Choose one moment and write down what happened, what you felt, and what you did next. Keep observation separate from judgment. “I changed the subject” is an observation. “I always avoid difficult things” is a much larger story—and it may not be the only one available.
A defining moment does not have to tell you who you are forever. It can simply show you where to begin paying closer attention.
